2026-2027 Integrated Strategic Action Plan (ISAP) - A Snapshot for Families & Staff

As a Year 1 Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) school, Porter Middle School is focused on three connected priorities this year: growing every student’s skills in Math and ELA, and building a school culture where every student feels they belong. Here’s what we’re aiming for and how we’ll know we’re getting there.

Mathematics

Goal: Increase math achievement and growth for all students through high-quality instruction, personalized learning pathways, and targeted interventions.

What success looks like:

  • +5% proficiency on Spring MAST Math vs. Fall baseline
  • +10 points of students showing strong growth on ExactPath Math
  • 80%+ of students averaging 40 min/week in ExactPath Math
  • Sub group students meet growth targets

English Language arts

Goal:Increase ELA achievement and growth through high-quality literacy instruction, personalized pathways, and targeted MTSS interventions.

What success looks like:

  • +5% proficiency on Spring MAST ELA vs. Fall baseline
  • +10 points of students showing strong growth on ExactPath Reading/Language
  • 80%+ of students averaging 80 min/week in ExactPath Reading & Language
  • Sub group students meet growth targets

Culture & Climate

Goal:Increase students’ sense of belonging, engagement, and leadership, while strengthening partnerships with families and our community.

What success looks like:

  • +10% positive responses on the school climate survey (belonging & engagement)
  • 90%+ of students in monthly goal-setting & reflection
  • Behavior referrals down 10% from 2025–26
  • Family survey participation up 25% (70 → 88+ responses)

HOW WE'LL GET THERE

Instruction & Data

  • High-quality Math & ELA instruction tied to Montana standards
  • Co-teaching between Gen Ed, Special Ed, Title I, and ELL staff
  • PLC teams use common assessments to guide instruction

Support & Time

  • ExactPath diagnostics build personalized learning pathways
  • WIN time, intervention classes, and small-group tutoring
  • MTSS Tiers 1–3 match support to student need

Belonging & Family

  • Weekly Leader in Me lessons build leadership & goal-setting
  • Student-led conferences and quarterly Synergy Rallies
  • Cultural Community Night and family engagement events

These goals are guided by our district’s Profile of a Graduate and Leader in Me framework, and monitored through MAST, ExactPath, and school climate data all year long.
